Microwaved Cake in a Mug!

This is my first post here, and a humble one at that. I am not a grand chef. I am not a master baker. I do not make beautifully decorated yummies that make people's jaws drop with wonder. However, as of tonight, I do have one thing that I am proud to claim:

I have the ability to make a pretty awesome chocolate cake in a mug in the microwave in three minutes.

4 tablespoons flour
9 tablespoons hot chocolate mix
1 egg
3 tablespoons water
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
Optional: Chocolate chips or something similar (I used butterscotch chips), chocolate syrup

Coat the inside of your favorite large mug with your nonstick of choice. Add the flour and hot chocolate mix to the mug, and stir together until uniform. Add egg and stir. Add water and oil and, you guessed it, stir. The flour/hot chocolate mix likes to hide in the bottom and not get mixed with the liquid, so be careful.

Once everything is all mixed together (and, if you want, you've put chocolate chips or butterscotch chips on the top), put your mug in the microwave and cook on high for three minutes. The cake will rise up and out of the mug around the 1:30 mark, but it will settle back down once you take it out of the microwave.

Remove from the microwave and hold the mug upside-down over a plate; the cake should slide out easily. Once it's out, break it up so that any trapped steam can escape. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the cake if desired and enjoy!

I'm hoping to experiment with the recipe in the future... it could use some sugar, and is a bit dense for my taste. That said, it's a damn good cake, and can easily feed two for desert. Enjoy!
