Pork Chops with Onions and Apples

I found the basic idea on allrecipes.com, combined it with something I saw on Food Network, and just cooked this now for my brother (with whom I'm currently crashing in Boston, woo!) and his friend.

DELICIOUS. That's all I have to say about it.

Per person, allow:
1 pork chop, about 3/4 in thick
1/2 large sweet yellow onion, coarsely sliced
1/2 tart cooking apple, peeled and sliced
1 tbsp brown sugar

You will also need:
Salt and pepper
Olive oil

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees F, and place a casserole dish or something inside to heat up.

Rub salt and pepper to taste into each side of the pork chops, and place in a large skillet with a little olive oil. Cook over medium-high heat until cooked through. Transfer the chops to the warmed dish; leave them in the oven to keep them warm.

In the same skillet (with the pork drippings and all), heat a tablespoon of butter. Add the onions, apples, and brown sugar (you may also add some cinnamon, nutmeg, or whatever), stir, and cook covered until tender.

Pour the cooked apples, onions, and sauce over the pork chops in the dish, and serve!

I have no pictures, because this disappeared too quickly.

Happy almost-autumn!
